Sergey Lavrov during a meeting while meeting the High Commissioner  of Refugees Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, announced providing  $ 10 million to help Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan.

The Russian minister stressed that the only way out of the current situation in Syria is a political settlement  that end the conflict, and using force from abroad will increase the deterioration of Syrian refugees and multiply their numbers.

In an meeting with president of International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer, Lavrov pointed the need to prevent further escalation of the crisis, as it would lead to widespread deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the region.
