Syria's Grand Mufti "Ahmad Badr-Eddin Hassoun" stressed the necessity to intensify efforts to face the dangers and repercussions of terrorism and exterminate the subversive takfiri thinking threatening the region and its people.
During his meeting with Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee at Iran’s Shura Council’s Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Hassoun asserted the key role men of religion could play in encountering takfiri thinking.
Both sides highlighted the need that all of the region’s peoples and world countries stand by Syria in its war against terrorism and pressure the countries supporting the terrorist groups with money, arms, training and shelter to hold back this support.
The Mufti also met with Chairman of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency "Ali Akbar Salehi" and congratulated him over the successes he achieved with regard to Geneva nuclear agreement and the world’s recognition of the Iranian people’s right to possessing peaceful nuclear energy.
Salehi for his part renewed Iran’s supportive position towards the Syrian government and people in confronting terrorism and restoring security and stability to Syria and solving its crisis through national dialogue among the Syrians themselves without any foreign interference or dictations.
