Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister " Sergei Lavrov" will discuss the preparations for Geneva-2 conference on Syria during his visit to Paris on Sunday.
The United Nations set January 22nd as the date for holding the international conference on Syria "Genev-2" with the participation of more than 30 countries.
In a statement on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry added that Lavrov will also meet a number of Arab and international officials in this regard, among them U.S Secretary of State "John Kerry" , France’s Foreign Minister "Laurent Fabuis", Jordanian Foreign Minister "Naser Joudeh" and UN envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi.
Russia Today website quoted the Ministry as saying that Lavrov will take part in a tripartite meeting with Kerry and Brahimi on Monday.
Lavrov and Kerry will discuss in Paris the preparations for the conference, particularly Iran’s participation.
Russia and the UN support Iran’s participation as a necessity for the success of the conference ,while Washington still hesitates in adopting a clear stance in this regard.
Earlier, Iran announced that it will not accept any conditions that don't respect Iran’s dignity.
