Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed that Egypt has played an important regional and international role during the past six months, adding that Egypt's rejection of aggression on Syria reflects the firm principles governing the Egyptian foreign policy.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ambassador Bader Abdul-Ati, said at a press conference that Egypt's rejection of the aggression on Syria is based on the U.N Charter which designated two conditions only for the use of force which are self-defense and measures stipulated by Chapter 7 of the U.N Charter.

He added that Egypt has restored its role in foreign policy regionally and internationally, and it offered important initiatives and stances concerning the Palestinian Cause, the Syrian crisis and other global issues.
