Israel resumes supplying fuel to Gaza power plant

A Palestinian official said that Israel resumed fuel deliveries today to Gaza Strip's sole power plant, two days after lack of supplies halted electricity production.

An anonymous official in Gaza said that Kerem Shalom crossing was reopened in the morning, allowing the resumption of fuel supplies to the plant whose operation could resume late Sunday afternoon.

The power plant stopped working on Friday due to the closure of the Kerem Shalom border crossing where goods transit between Israel entity and the Palestinian enclave.

The decision to close the crossing came after the death on Tuesday of an Israeli killed by a Palestinian sniper while working near the border between Israel entity and the Gaza Strip.
