Turkey's defense minister "Ismet Yilmaz" denied reports that his country was delivering weapons of war to Syrian militants , but acknowledged that "hunting rifles" had been exported to Syria. .
"Hurriyet" Daily News reported on Monday that Turkey had shipped 47 tonnes of weapons to Syrian militants since June, citing U.N and Turkish Statistics Institute documents.
Yilmaz said his ministry hadn't issued any permits for the export of military equipment to Syria in 2013, adding "however, what has been exported are ungrooved hunting rifles and blank firing guns. Other than that, any export by us is out of question".
