U.N inspectors to check Libya's uranium stockpiles

United Nations said that its nuclear inspectors will visit Libya to assess its uranium stockpiles.

U.N envoy to Libya " Tarek Mitri " told Security Council that the IAEA team would arrive later this month , adding that 6,400 barrels of concentrated uranium were stored at a former military base in southern Libya, guarded by an army battalion.

Mitri, U.N Secretary General's Special Representative to Libya, said that an inspection team from the International Atomic Energy Agency would "visit Libya this month to verify the existing stockpiles and the conditions of storage at the former military facility near southern city Libya of Sabha .
