Maliki in Iran to discuss bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister  "Nuri al-Maliki" with Iran's Supreme Leader "Ali Khamenei" during his visit to Iran.

Al-Maliki met with Iranian President "Hassan Rohani "and discussed ways of developing bilateral relations between the two countries, as the two sides discussed a number of regional issues , especially the Syrian crisis and Geneva - 2 conference.

Al-Maliki called on the international community to  unify in combating terrorism and sparing the region the risk of terrorists groups trying to ignite sectarian violence , stressing the need to have a peaceful solution in Syria . The two sides stressed on the need to develop relations and cooperation between the two neighboring countries , especially in the field of energy , gas and transportation.

The two sides discussed some regional issues especially the Syrian crisis , stressing the need to solve the Syrian crisis through a peaceful way , in addition to consolidate the international positions on "Geneva – 2" Conference.
