Russian Foreign Ministry calls for releasing the nuns of St. Takla Monastery in Maloula

Russian Foreign Ministry called on the kidnappers of Mar Takla Monastery 's nun in Syria to release them  immediately .

Commissioner of Russian Foreign Ministry for human rights wrote in his page on Twitter , "we call on the kidnappers of the nuns to release them immediately without abusing them  .  the abduction of the nuns in the monastery of Mar Takla in Syria should be strongly condemned , in addition to naming those responsible for this criminal act " .

Russian Orthodox Church joined Patriarchate of Antioch in appealing the international community to work on releasing  the 12 nuns and the head of the monastery abducted by armed extremists in the city of Maloula northern of Damascus .

A statement issued by the Department of Foreign Relations in Moscow Patriarchate , said "It is time for all good people to express in one voice their rejection of such inhuman acts and to condemn terrorism , whatever  its slogans were " . The statement noted that the Russian Church prays for the Sisters of Saint Takla Monastery , as it prays for the two abducted bishops "Paul Yazigi "and  "Mar Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim"  , all Christian prisoners , and the Syrian people  ".
