Riad Haddad: lack of funding and militants hinder destructing Syrian chemical weapons

Syrian ambassador in Moscow, Riad Haddad, said that Syrian government is facing many obsticales in eliminating chemical weapons, including the armed groups and the lack of international funding for transporting operations.

  Haddad said that "the main obstacles facing Syria in meeting its obligations are lacking the necessary funding to carry out that task " .He continued, "in addition to that, armed groups create obstacles to meet the terms of the agreement".

Syria had asked the International Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for armored vehicles to transport chemical weapons to protect them from attacks by militants during the transportation process.
