British Foreign Office announced appointing Ajay Acharma as a non-resident charge d'affaires In Iran , while Tehran appointed "Mohammed Hassan Habib Allah" as a charge d'affaires in London, according to "Mehr" Iranian agency .
That relations between the two countries stopped after demonstrators attacked headquarters of the British embassy in Tehran protesting against the imposition of new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program . In return Britain closed its embassy and Iran did the same. The Sultanate of Oman , Sweden represented Britainin Tahran.
This rapprochement comes after the British Foreign Secretary William Hague thawed on October 8th the deadlock in relations by announcing that the two countries agreed to appoint charge d'affaires .
