British secret intelligence chief admitted the difficulty of fighting extremists in Syria because of the lack of cooperation with the Syrian government.

The director of "MI6" John Sawers,  said "we are working with our partners in preventing foreign fighters from going to Syria and becoming extremists , we have our relations with the Syrian opposition but there is a very difficult task for intelligence activity beacuse we don't have partners there".

In turn, head of the internal intelligence Andrew Parker (MI5) acknowledged that there is "almost hundred of Britons fighting in Syria and returning to Britain, most of whom didn't try to attack Britain, but perhaps some of them will try soon".
