U.N envoy Arab Lakhdar Brahimi arrived to Beirut, where he will leave to Damascus for talks with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and other senior Syrian officials.

Brahimi held meeting in Lebanon with the Personal Representative of U.S Secretary-General Derek Plumbly.

Informed sources in Damascus  said that Brahimi will meet with a number of senior officials in Syria, led by President Bashar Al-Assad, in addition to representatives from the interior opposition parties. The sources said that Brahimi will brief the Syrian leadership on the results of his Arab and regional tour and  will listen to their point of view toward "Geneva 2".
