U.N envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi , announced that there is international " semi-unanimous " that there is no military solution to the Syrian crisis , but only a political one.

Brahimi in a press statement after Amman talks with Jordan's King " Abdullah II " and Jordanian Foreign Minister " Nasser Judeh " about the preparations for "Geneva -2" on Wednesday, October 23, said "We had important and necessary discussions with Judeh on the suffocating and dangerous Syrian crisis that threats not only Syria and its future, but also threats the region , and it is the most serious crisis threatening peace and stability".

He added that " this round comes at the request of the Secretary-General of the United Nations  Ban Ki-moon and the foreign ministers of the five permanent members of Security Council who realized as other countries in the region particularly the Jordan Kingdom , the seriousness of this situation.

He noted that " there is now almost a consensus that there isn't a military solution to the crisis , and that this nightmare can't be ended , which worries the Syrian people , only through a political solution . "
