Chairman of Intelligence Committee in U.S House of Representatives , the Republican Mike Rogers , said that if Al-Assad was ousted from power now , Syria will sink in total chaos.
This came in a speech delivered by Rogers in a session entitled "The crisis in Syria," which was held today on the sidelines of " 2013 forum of Foreign Policy Initiative " , which was held in the U.S city of Washington . Rogers also criticized the policy pursued by the U.S Administrative regarding Syrian crisis .
Rogers stressed the need of the White House to restore its evaluation and dealing the crisis which is currently taking place in Syria , calling on the U.S president to change his approach in resolving the crisis , adding that " Obama must do more to end the war in Syria."
According to Rogers, it would be wrong to define what Syria is witnessing as a " civil war ", describing it as " a regional war " , stressing that the exclusion of Assad will plunge Syria in chaos. He stressed that United States must launch a " confidential work " in order to suppress the impact of such chaos that would harm American interests , and the interests of its allies in the region.
For his part , Elliott Angle , a veteran member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in House of Representatives, said that U.S interests in the Middle East region have begun to change , explaining that U.S need to keep its relationship in the region in spite of all what is happening.
