Secretary General of UN Humanitarian Affairs Valerie Amos,  called for a cease-fire and an immediate humanitarian corridor to save civilian detainees in Madamie in Damascus .

Amos said humanitarian organizations  were prevented  access the town  for months , adding that despite the evacuation of about 3 thousand inhabitants of the town last Sunday , there is still a similar number being held amid heavy fighting .

She  said " thousands of families are still trapped in other cities all over Syria, such as Aleppo and ancient Homs" . She stated that "   it's  vital  that all parties of conflict respect  their obligations under international rights and humanitarian laws in order to protect civilians and to allow impartial humanitarian organizations  access safely to those who need help in anywhere in Syria."
